ACCEPT:

Picture- 8

Sound- 9

Trax- TV War, Living For Tonight, London Leatherboys, Hellhammer, Princess of the Dawn, Generation Clash, D-Train, Metal Heart, Screaming For A Lovebite, Up To The Limit, XTC, Turn The Wheel, Balls To The Wall

Notes- The picture doesn't come into full focus until the third song. No closer shots until the fourth song. After that, this show is very enjoyable! I think the video turned out as well as it could have, because this place was awefully dark and smoke-filled. Stefan Kaufmann was the drummer in this show.

Miscue- HAHAHAHA!! In one of the first lines in Up to the Limit, David Reece substitutes some of his own lyrics (David Reece was the master at that!!). Then after the first chorus he just stops singing? I'm not sure what he was doing, but the band carries on for about the time it would have taken to sing the next set of lyrics. Then Reece comes back and sings those lines, but heavily altered. Towards the end of the song, Peter puts his arm around him and says something to him. Maybe he was affected by the 32 ounce can of beer he was drinking on stage?!

Priceless David Reece lines- When he tells Wolf just before the Generation Clash solo to start "playin' your guitar!"
His "Sign of Victory" in Balls to the Wall.

Picture- 8 - Very shaky, especially at the beginning. Shot from around 25 rows back or so. The closer he gets in, the shakier it is. But the color is very good and the focus is above average. Nice camera movement. There are pauses for still shot photos, but not too many of them- not much of a distraction. Overall enjoyable!

Sound- 7 - Poor sound the first song especially but it all seems to get better later on. The biggest problem I thought were the drums. The faster the drums, the more it sounded like a helicopter.

Trax: Starlight, Living For Tonight, London Leatherboys, Metal Heart, Breaker (the end of the song), Head Over Heels, Restless and Wild, Son Of A Bitch, Monsterman, Fast As A Shark, Princess of the Dawn, Balls to the Wall

Miscues: Peter: "This is our last show in Spain, so let's kick some you know what!" Udo: "We're in Italy"... LOL. Then Udo teases him again about this a few songs later. Udo drops the mic before Restless :-)

Notes: Included on this DVD copy that I have are 7 or so still shots that were taken during the show. All of them close shots and a few of them are super clear quality.

U.D.O.
Picture and Sound- 9 (Currently can only watch this dvd on my computer)

Trax- Stone Evil, Freelance Man, Independence Day, Metal Eater, Manhunt, Restless and Wild, Son of a Bitch, No Limits, Princess of the Dawn, In the Darkness, Metal Heart, Animal House, Too High To Get It Right, Balls to the Wall, Metal Gods, Love Machine, I'm A Rebel, They Want War, Fast As A Shark

Notes- Wow!!! The cameraman is positioned perfectly in the middle of the club and he seems to be standing higher up on a platform or something. Incredible shots, very clear and rarely out of  focus. When the white stage lights are on, this video is PERFECT. But they keep switching over to red and blue lights and the quality doesn't hold up as good there. Otherwise this would have been a Brooklyn 93 or Finland 91 quality show. First time I've seen Manhunt and Love Machine. A very funny thing though is the crowd size. It's a USA size crowd! I couldn't believe it, but for the first half  hour there's only 2 rows of people, then after that it increases to a whopping 3 rows!! In several places you can see people casually walk up to the second row. So funny for a European show!

Picture- 8- Fairly close shots. Shot from an angle (facing stage- camera is to the left). The picture is very clear and steady.... no lines/distortion. However there is a LOT of mist or smoke (?) throughout the show and that is the drawback to this picture.

Sound- 7.5- prominant drums.

Trax- Metal Heart (not complete), Independence Day, Restless and Wild, Son Of A Bitch, No Limits, Princess of the Dawn, Animal House, Balls to the Wall, I'm A Rebel, Fast As A Shark

Picture- 6- The camera position is great. Maybe 15 rows from stage and on a platform and close shots. But I had several problems with the picture of this show. The focus seemed to be just slightly off (for the whole entire show). The stage colors (too many different colors) really threw this show off for me. Also there seemed to be this wavy picture style distortion that either I kept seeing, or maybe my mind was playing tricks on me? It seemed for the most part to affect the middle of the picture. Lastly, the person filming kept using two effects on his camera.... using them too much. This is why I deducted another point to make the rating a 6. One of the effects is where the action slows down. The other effect he used was a tunnel effect where he would tunnel out to show the whole stage area and then tunnel back in to the band shot. Oh, gee... cool. Thanks for doing that over a hundred times in the show (it seemed like). My personal opinion is that bootlegs should look like bootlegs and please leave all the trick photography gimmicks to the DVD creation specialists!

Sound- 7- Several level changes. Drums too prominant. I wasn't all that impressed with the sound.

Trax- Holy, Raiders of Beyond, Midnight Mover, Independence Day, Metal Eater, Drum solo, London Leatherboys, No Limits, Metal Heart, Restless and Wild, Son Of A Bitch, Balls to the Wall, Princess of the Dawn, I'm A Rebel, Fast As A Shark

Notes- Very tame crowd except for the first 2 rows.

Picture and sound- 9- Very nice show, excellent camera work.
Trax- Same as the above show minus Princess

Picture and sound- Tough to rate. I can only watch this DVD on my computer. I'll give the picture a 6.

Trax- Holy, Raiders of Beyond, Midnight Mover, Independence Day, Metal Eater, drum solo, London Leatherboys, Animal House, Metal Heart, Living on a Frontline, Restless and Wild, Son of a Bitch, Balls to the Wall, Princess of the Dawn, Metal Gods, I'm a Rebel, Fast as a Shark
Notes- This is one of the most distracting videos I have seen! Where do I begin? The first song has 3-4 breaks in the first song- not sure what was going on there. The person filming seemed to have a lot of problems. At times it seems like a very short person is filming this because the crowd in front of him seems larger than life. Most of the shots are on Udo, quite a bit of Stefan as well. Very few stage shots, and when there is, there are focusing problems. This guy was in and out of focus A LOT- very distracting. Also the lighting in this club didn't seem to be very good, maybe that was one of the problems. Very distracting white strobe effect in a couple of the songs as well. A couple other things to point out: Udo seemed to be a lot more into this show than other shows I've seen.... pumping his fist harder, even beating his head in Independence Day. Also it's very interesting that Metal Gods is in a USA setlist. It was not in any of the shows I saw that year (thankfully).

Picture- 8. Shot from front row. Occasionally jumpy and out of focus. Some great angles (obviously) and overall very good job.

Sound- 7. Although for now I can only watch this DVD on my computer. Udo is very faint throughout this show and can barely be heard in a couple of the songs.

Trax- Man and Machine, Private Eye, Metal Heart, Midnight Highway, Animal Instinct, Living For Tonight, Hard To Be Honest, drum solo, TV War, Princess of the Dawn, In The Darkness, Independence Day, Hard Attack, Animal House, Balls To The Wall, Holy, Screaming For A Lovebite (taping stops at the start of the guitar solo).

Notes- The first 5 minutes is an autograph session. Cool wrestling match between Udo and Stefan in Independence Day. For me the two drawbacks to this show are not being able to hear Udo well and the fact that this is shot from the front row. I know it has its advantages (in this show for instance, Igor brings his guitar close up to the camera at one point).... but I still perfer seeing some whole stage shots. Take advantage of your "zoom" option for gosh sakes! :-)

Quite simply put, a MUST HAVE for any UDO fan. Unlike the Accept (Metal blast from the past) dvd., which contained the most widely available video ever- Staying a Life, this was a new concert from the Russian tour. The dvd is just loaded.

Live tracks- Holy, Raiders of Beyond, Metal Heart, X-T-C, drum solo, Fast As A Shark, Princess of the Dawn, Restless and Wild, Thunder in the Tower, Hard attack, Balls to the Wall

Behind the scenes- On tour in Russia, On tour in the USA (a lot of this more likely happened in Sweden), parashoot jump

Photogallery, biography, discography

Video clips- They Want War, Break the Rules, Heart of Gold (video, making of, hit studio international), Timebomb (electronic press kit), Independence Day, Still (with Aria), Go Back to Hell (live), drum solo (Russia '01)

Unreleased audio tracks- X-T-C (from A tribute to Accept II), The Key (No Limits bonus track), Mad Dogs and Loaded Guns (solid), Warchild (solid), Rated X (demo version), Tough Luck (no limits), Recall the Sin (demo version)

Bonus audio cd- Holy, Raiders of Beyond, Metal Heart, X-T-C, drum solo, Fast as a Shark, Princess of the Dawn, Restless and Wild, Thunder in the Tower, Hard Attack, Balls to the Wall
